Attacked by a 2 year old!!

Ok been reading this board for about a year, been riding a F4i for about the same amount of time. Tons of great info on these boards, thanx. /asskiss off

Ok so I am moving and my 2 year old was "helping" me clear out the garage and stuff when I turn around i saw here throw a dust cap (from my 8 y/o daughters bike) into the "pretty" hole known as my exhaust. God only knows what else she threw down there that I didnt see. Now I looked down as far as I can see with a flashlight, then started the bike and reved it hoping the little bugger would just fly out, no luck. I then took a ride. No real bog down like I expected. Now for the question, where the hell did it fall into? Can it be jammed in there causing damage? I am sure after the ride it was either jammed into where ever it is and possibly melted. What type of damage am I looking at if I just decide to look the other way and run it? I appreciate all the comments and suggestions.

Ohh yea forgot to mention its a stock exhaust.

Aren't 2 year olds fun? lol And I mean that sincerely. From 18 months to 6 yrs old is the best until they get past their rebelious years... any way, back to your original question.

I have no idea! :D

But my guess would be that as long as it's not blocking air flow, you'll be OK other than the smell of melting plastic.

I agree, its probably melted in there. If anything, when it does try to block air at some point in time than the pressure will shoot it out.

If it was low grade plastic don't sweat it. It will melt and cook off.

If it was some good high temp automotive plastic, it may stick around for awhile. Some of that stuff has a stupid high melting point and fiber reinforcement.

If it isn't causing a restriction it isn't going to hurt anything. If all of a sudden it was able to stick in the exhaust the worst it would do is stall the bike because of excess backpressure.

really appreciate all the responses. Blackdog~ The dust cap is off the air valve from my other daughters bike. No high temp or anything fancy. Snowboarding~I just got back from a stand-up up and down the street, didnt think of that did anything, but it was fun anyway. I tried to explain to my wife i was doing it for mechanical reasons and not to piss off the neighbors. She didnt buy it. Plus i think it was the 1st time i think she has ever seen me do it. She hates the fact i even have a bike, but thats an entire diffrent post...

I guess I will just grin and bear it and hope it really doesnt cause any further damage. Also, when i figure out how to do a sig and a kewl little picture under my name ill post pics.

My girls have gotten me pretty good a couple of times so I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. Sorry brother but it is funnier when it happens to someone else.
