Thumbs down "ARGH!" Another F4i fork conversion question

Ive done all the research I can, and still cant get that vital information I want.I know all the boys are switching over to the 929/954 front ends, heck I even seen some R1 and Gixxer 750's on em. I know rc51 forks perfectly but too damn expensive just for the forks alone. 600/1000rr forks are also good, but are shorter and will change the geometry of the bike completely.

Most of the information I found came from stunters who want to roll 'x' ft stoppies and other stunts, but I havent found one person who just did the swap for everyday riding. How they hold up, corning, braking, and overall stability. They look trick as hell, is another reason I want it and since my forks are trashed why not. In addition the geometry of the bike, i want the same geometry but with usd forks and some of the benefits it comes with it.

I literally have my finger on a "buy it now" for a 954 forks with triples, and ill buy the rim/rotors/axle/clip ons, etc etc. But if stock is the only way to go for the everyday rider like myself, then Ill have to reconsider and get those.

Cheers

I swapped a 07 CBR 600RR front end. I want to say that ther were like 10mm shorter (dont quote me), at the end, it wasnt enough to be a big deal for me, specially since track riders/racers used to increase the rear height by 5-10mm.

I commuted on my bike up to early 2012, and tracked the bike (still do, but not as often) The bike rides great, and I have no complaints.

Not sure on the 929rr, but on the 600RR, you cant use the OEM clip ons without hitting the air duct covers. I am using woodcraft 1.5 riser clip ons.

What do you mean your forks are trashed? New fork seals, and springs and valves set up for your weight will give you your best ride improvement, and don't cost too much. Depending on how old the fork oil is, just replacing that might give you a big improvement.

If you want the look of the usd forks, then that's a different, and more expensive matter.

Crashed the bike, result = bent/twisted forks.

from what I've read, all the inverted forks have clearance issues w/ the clip-ons and air ducts w/o using risers.....
