with the speedohealer, you can do 2 things. you could set it so that the odometer is accurate, or set it so that the speedometer is accurate. with an accurate odometer, your speed will be show faster than youre going, and with an accurate speedometer, your odometer will show less miles than youve actually ridden. hope that helps!

That doesn't make sense to me. The mileage and the miles per hour are directly linked, you can't have one correct without the other.

Right, it says the speed signal drives both. The reason the ODO is off, is because the speedo is reading higher than actual. Once that is fixed, you have fixed the ODO. Obviously you can't back it up.

the odometer is accurate from the factory, speedo is inaccurate, to make one accurate, you have to make the other inaccurate.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. The amount of miles you are going per hour indiacates the amount of miles you are going, they are the same calculation coming from the same piece of equipment on your bike. There's no GPS installed on your ODO that would give you some different math.

WOT - The speedohealer website says that the odometer and speedometer error are different. Yes they are driven by the same sensor, but the implication is that the stock bike's odometer is nearly 100% accurate (for warrentee purposes) and that the speedometer reads high (4%-7% to avoid legal issues of it reading low and being the "cause of an accident").

If you compare a brand new car's speedometer to a GPS you'll find they don't match either... nor does a stock bike's speedometer match a GPS.

The problem is that if you have a stock error of 5% and an additional error of 14%, then an indicated speed of 50 is really only 40 which is much much different than 52.5
