Anyone know what this is?
 

Noob here. Received this bike without knowing anything about what the previous owner had did to it. I am in the process of rebuilding her when i stumbled onto this. Based on my research and limited knowledge, is this an after market CCT? If so can anyone point me out in right direction in knowing whether it requires any adjustments?

That does indeed look like an aftermarket manual CCT. The stock ones are known to go out. Normally you'll see either a longer bolt on the stock one or the manual aftermarket ones. Is that located on the right side of your bike?

It's an APE manual cct. I'd start by loosening it off, then tightening until its just getting tension on the guide. Start the bike and adjust so you can just barely hear the cam chain rattle. Lock it down and that's it. It's a good idea to periodically make sure the lock nut hasn't backed off or anything. Never had a problem with mine.
