ANy Problems with starting after Fairings removed???
Hi all , My bike is all apart completely, fairings, Gas tank, headlights etc... its all getting painted. But any way Just wondering is there anything I need to do before putting it back together, when i am about to start her up ,.
Its a 2002 F4i any sensors, or any special care needed before I start her up ?? Any Input would be appreciated Thanks All !!!! |

Couple of things. If you've got the pump out of the tank, replace the gasket when you reassemble and you'll save yourself major irritation of fixing a leak later. Also, not a bad idea to slosh test it for leaks before you install the tank. Last time I put my tank back on I didn't do that and--it leaked.
The bank angle sensor is in the front fairing between the headlights. Make sure it hasn't come loose--unlikely. When you reconnect the harness, the sensor will also reconnect. You really can't go wrong. Feeding the air ducts into the front fairing can be a pain sometimes. Seems to work better if you look at them through the front of fairing--the air entry side--and guide them into the slots with a screwdriver. --Paul |
COOL Thanks alot all exactly wheres the sensor so I KNow to look for it and make sure its connected (bank angle sensor) Is it a actual harness , I dont remmeber disconnecting. But it should be coming back from powdercoating, paint next weekend , Ill let you all know how it goes , cant wait to get it back !!!!

It's attached to the headlight harness. So like I said, attach the headlight ;)
