Default Any Ideas?

Hello all,
Today I am riding my 04 F4I and I was stopped at a light when I put it into N and let go of the break. I noticed that the ctutch cable looked like it was vibrating a little and I swear I can hear a noise sounding like a soft humming. When I squeeze in the clutch it stops. I dont notice it when I am in gear and holding in the clutch. My clutch seems to have the 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch play in it before it engages, but it seems to engage fast. The humming seems to be coming some where under the front fairing under the handel bars, maybe under or around the left side of them. I dont smell anything burning like the clutch, I have only 1900 miles and it has never been wrecked, although me and the wife were messing around 1 nite and it went down but very softly, only a small scratch to the right side, nothing broken or bent. I dont know if it was always like this and I never noticed or it is something new. Any Ideas?

My 04 makes the same noise, and always has.I just recently put 11,000 miles on it and no problems yet. I don't think you have a problem. I clutch mine up in 2nd gear all the time to ride wheelies, and the clutch still feels fine.

What about a sort of whistling noise all the time that gets higher pitched as you increase rpm? Is this a normal noise or is something wrong? It makes the noise all of the time no matter what.

It's just some clutch chatter and vibration, which is normal. It does the same thing in any gear but since you're obviously moving, you can't hear or feel it.

THis is the sound the stock exhaust makes. Get a pipe and this will go away.

That sounds like a normal F4i to me. Good idea posting a video though. No better way to demonstrate exactly what you were asking about.
