Another coolant Q!!!

Okay I did a search but didn't come up with a straight answer.

I need to know the amount of coolant a 600cc bike takes.

My search results are usually overheating and coolant reservoir level.

I'm planning on doing the coolant flush and maybe run some of the Motul coolant in the liter bottles.

One guy at Cycle Gear said my bike will take 2 gal jugs of that ice what-cha-ma-call-it coolant. Another said I only need the 2 Motul bottles.

I sorta am confused on the overall coolant capacity.

A little help will be much appreciated

engine ice coolant, its purple right?

My coolant is running a little low, but I was told by another biker, one who's been riding for years, that there is a mixture issue to contend with. I don't wanna have to flush and so forth (just another headache), but simply top it off if that's possible.

Zero1080 - it is best to stay with the same type of fluid... but as long as you run bike appropriate you should be fine. If you haven't done a flush it is very easy, and is never a bad idea.

Playboi - My track coolant is pink - Water Wetter... I guess it might look purple when it is at full strength.

OP - Just fill it until the radiator will not take any more and the coolant over flow bottle is to the full line. If you pour the fluid in slowly and have the radatior fill cap on the uphhill side of the bike you can nearly perfectly fill it the first time. Then start the bike and give it a few gentle blips to get the air out. As it warms up the temp-sensor will flick the switch open and it will drop a bit... top it off and you're done.

A gallon jug leaves a nice bit spare.

Thanks Guys!!!!

I found a gallon of coolant that I kept for spare. I'll use that and some water wetter. I should be good.

UPDATE:

Did the flush, but now found a pin-hole leak in the radiator.

Gonna use some stop leak to patch it up.

NOOO!!! Don't do that! It'll gum up your cooling system; BIG TIME. Either get it fixed at the local radiator shop (easy, fast & cheap), or get a new one (meaning used, but good condition). But don't put that crap in your bike. Bad bad juju.

Here comes a thread jack. But yea, I drained my fluid for the track and filled with water. I found the drain bolt on the water pump down near the shifter pedal but in my shop manual it says there is another drain bolt somewhere but I have been unable to find it. Google cant find any good pics of where the "other" drain bolt is. Can anyone give me a hint to where this other drain bolt is at and does it have an arrow pointing to it like the water pump drain bolt? Im on an 01 f4i.
