Default All ***** bearings made in China :(

A seller on eBay described the All ***** steering bearing as made in USA. I got them today, and they're made in China. sigh... i knew $30 for 2 bearings were too good to be true. Anyways, I hope they don't suck.

Also. I read that there's a lock nut that requires a special socket. Can I just take a screw driver and a hammer to it? I'll try to be graceful.

I used a 40mm adjustable spanner for the stem, the stem socket is a 32mm normal but by god it's tight!

I had custom sockets machined for removing that.. 1/2" drive. Works like a charm. Came from a machinist in the UK. Found him on ebay a few years back.
