Ajusting The Gear Shifter
 

Hey Guys,

Busy trying to find a nice pair of boots, the problem is all the boots ive tried dont seem to fit under the shifter and if they do, just the very corner of the boot touches the shifter, resulting in alot of missed shifts..

Is there anyway to ajust the position of it, mayb move it up and out abit ?

I ride in a fairly cheap pair of riding boots and find it is a lot easier to shift without missing the shift. The boots I have are made by 6th Gear...and run around $140 or something new. I've found wearing less riding oriented footwear makes it easier to miss shifts. I've also found body positioning can have an effect too.

The shifter linkage can be adjusted up or down but not out.
there are 2 lock screws on the linkage rod you must loosen first.

I use the shift fuel shoe, it fits for me... if your willing to do a shoe instead of a boot.

wouldnt recommend it for track but its a great road shoe.

+1 Sick's comment. The connecting rod between the to bell-cranks is joined with a
sleeve that will lengthen or shorten the rod, thus, raising or lowering the end of the
shift pedal.

Not adjusting the brake and shift pedals, is one of the most common mistakes
leading to blown shifts or poor rear braking performance.
