Aftermarket Clipons

I tried to search it, but I didn't find everything I wanted to know relating aftermarket clip ons.

I read that if I go the after market route I would need to mod the clip on in order to fit everything properly. Is this correct? Does this relate to a specific brand or all brands?

Is the vibration significantly greater with after market clip ons?

For street use, is there really any benefit to having after market clip ons?

Finally, I found a set of Gilles clip ons for $100. Reasonable? Or is there something better for my buck?

only street advantage they have is you can just replace the bar instead of the whole clipon in case of a crash.

shouldnt be any modding needed, may need diff type barends, which also can damping vibration.

$100 is cheap really esp for Gilles ;)

I had vortex clipons on an old bike and was very happy with them. I agree, $100 is a pretty sweet deal for a set of aftermarket clipons.

Another quick question regarding rear sets. Are they pretty much standard? Would any 600 rearset fit my F4i?

no, they need to be for a 99-2006 F4/F4i.

I'm not sure about other ones...but the vortex ones don't fit.....unless you change your front master. The way that they mount the bar into the clamp interferes with the master clamping down on the bar. My solution was a GSXR Master with a pee-cup so there was no interference

So Vortex clip ons for the F4i doesn't fit the F4i? lol... I love irony..

Really and how is that working out for you? That master work right up with the factory system?
