Default 600FS Radiator

A few months ago I got a new radiator at a knockdown price in a clearance sale - listed as fitting my 2001 600FS among others. Mine's looking a bit ropey so thought it was a lucky find. I'm now in the process of fixing a leaking fork seal and changing the header pipes - ideal time to swap the radiator. Problem. The new rad is 30mm wider than the old one. Other dimensions are the same, mounting and fan brackets and hose connections are all in the right place. I don't want to put everything back together then find my new slightly wider rad fouls the fairing panels. Can anyone offer any advice on the difference in width?

Seems unusual it would be wider if it was for your bike. Did you compare part numbers with what Honda shows? I'm figuring you can't return it. If the mounting points are identical, and the extra 30mm is divided equally to both sides, 15mm to the left and 15mm to the right. There is a good chance it wouldn't touch the fairings, but you'd have to take a visual on that yourself. How much extra clearance does your current one have from the fairings?

Yes, 15mm wider each side. It's a pattern part so part no. doesn't mean anything to me. It's listed as fitting CBR600F 1,2,3,4i and S. After a beer and more thought I can put the new rad loosely on it's mountings without fan or hoses and offer up side panels to check clearance before doing too much more work. Just wondered if anyone had found rad size difference before in maybe different years or models.
Cheers.
