520 effecting gas milage?
First, I just filled up my f4i for the first time with the trip odometor reading out the milage for the tank. I filled up 3.9XX gallons with 133 miles.
This seems horrible to me compared to my 250r, but as I was thinking I realized the previous owner had the 520 conversion done with -1/+3 and I have a feeling this effects the reading in a negitive way. Is my odometor reading less miles because of the sprocket size? If so anyone know a way to figure out what my actual milage might have been for that tank of gas? |

I don't hardly ever get aboce 8-9k rpms... I don't feel like that is hard riding but maybe I am wrong. If it's registering more miles than i'm getting even worse milage than it shows??

You're going to get worse mileage because you're now going to be in higher RPMs no matter what speed you're at. So you're burning more fuel.

When I keep it below 6k I get 42mpg constantly, if I go above, then mid thritys is the norm
|
I get mid 30ish and i know i have +2 I don't know about -1 but i should if the guy who had my bike before me wasn't an idiot.

Of course you are going to loose a little gas mileage your rpms are going to be higher riding since you have a lower drive ratio. The chain size doesnt really have much to do with it that just saves a little weight.

Keep in mind that a 36 horsepower ninja 250 with an inline twin engine will burn less gas to begine with. My old little ninja 250r would get 300km on 10dollars worth of gas. Your 600 wont touch that idea.

Im all stock and can squeek 50mpg out in the summer. This is mostly freeway riding at 7k [85mph]. I shift between 4-5k and am in 6th by 40-45mph on the sidestreets. I normally get about 45mpg. If Im being an a-hole to my bike and riding fast with my group and I can get it down to about 35mpg but not much worse then that.
