2CT vs. Battlax
Read a lot of reviews today, but I can't quite decide on what to go with. Put a 2ct on the front 2 weeks ago, but have heard good things about battlax's. Putting the rear on today... What do you recommend/why? I ride fairly aggressive but would like to get a good tire life. No track days, just city riding and mountains.

I would go with the 2ct, so you have the same tread, profile, etc
|
They say mixing tires is bad. Pilot Powers have a super aggressive profile unlike the Battlax's. Might lead to some funky riding.
That said. Im about to put on a new Metzler M1 front tire and i have a PP rear with 80% tread left. Couldn't pass up a new front tire for $20. :icon_teeth: |
Mixing tires is fine, battleaxes suck compated to 2ct's.
|
i actually have a battleaxe on the front and a 2ct on the rear. The front was a freebie off someone's track bike that still had 50% tread. They dont feel weird together. Ive had a dunlop front and a 2ct rear, also a pirelli rear and a dunlop front and they both felt alright.

Went with the 2ct. Really nice so far. Can't really tell if I like it more than the pilot power 1 though. I guess my tread life will tell.
|
Whats a pilot power 1?
|
I'm currently running a pilot power rear and a diablo corsa front (got a flat in the rear, put on someones track-day take off pilot) I can tell I have a different tire on now. I would vote 2CT so you have matching tires and handlind charectoristics; also in the future if you are looking for a 100% street tire that can handle aggressive riding but will last a long time on the super-slab - Michelin pilot road 2 or 3 - they will be my next set of tires.
