What are they going to replace it with? Are they not going to carry a 'sport touring' bike anymore?
Kawi has the zzr (I wish they kept the <2005 model) and yama has the yzf600r... suzuki has the bandit/sv. Honda? 599 I guess.

I'm sad, they need an F5 even if it is called an RR

hmm. i'd rather spend half the money on a good condition 03 than buy a new (banana seat) f4i.

There's the chance to get an abused bike that looks like new.
I've bought used cars, but with a bike, I'd prefer not to risk it...

That is an option too, but I'm no mechanic, nor do I know any mechanic I would trust to inspect a used bike.

What the F4i and honda has going for it though, is that these bikes are absolute tanks. my bike was rescued from a stunter who put 34000 miles on it, and the thing has been perfect for the 4000 miles i've been riding it.
All honda F's are pretty durable, reliable bikes--my F2 had something like 46,000 miles, and i know there's a couple of F4i riders here w/ 60-70k.
when buying a used bike, i think the key is not only judging the bike, but the owner as well. as harsh as that sounds, you can often tell w/in a few minutes of talking whether they'd be on top of stuff like oil changes, valve adjustments, etc.

Yes, Jorge. It isn't much, but it must make a difference. According to Cycle World: "Honda's designers focused on a lower center of gravity and mass centralization, while moving the rider .6 of an inch back in the seat for improved comfort. Likewise, the handlebars were raised .4 of an inch.
