2007 CBR 600 RR
According to french magazine MotoRevue, the 2007 CBR 600 RR will be a completely radical MotoGP race replica, and will be aimed at the new R6. It will have a slipper clutch and, may even have some sort of electronic traction control (on a 600?). It seems it may just be a fuel mixture change if ity detects wheel spin, for instance, but impressive it it does have some sort of attempt to bring that type of technology to the common rider. The magazine also states one of the aims will be to reduce the weight down to 190 Kg when fully "wet" (all fuel, liquids, lubricants, etc). Still according to MotoRevue, the engine will be completely new and should top the revs achieved by the current 600 bikes (although the tiny article mentions 19,000 rpm, I doubt it). I do believe it may try to go to the 17,500 (real rpm) just to throw dust on Yamaha's face after the marketing mess of the new R6 announced rpms...

RE: 2007 CBR 600 RR
chances are this bike has been in the works since before the R6 crap came about
the bike will most likely have a slipper clutch (I've got a little inside info) you can guess the bike will be loosely based on either the 990cc GP bike or the new 800 that nobody has even seen yet. I don't expect it to have traction control though, they JUST gave the World Superbike team traction control and they have been one of the most outspoken manufs about keeping it out of Superbike classes, so why would they put it on their 600???
as far as specs, its time for an "all new" bike so the whole package should be new (chassis, appearance, etc) not just the engine
based on the current trend all I can imagine is that it will be smaller, lighter, and more powerful but the details we won't actually have a clue until Honda wants us to know

and btw that raptorsandrockets site is a bunch of BS, they always come up with drawings and make guesses about what new bikes will look like and they are never close, just random guesses from somebody that doesn't know jack
ignore that site if at all possible they suck and are completely full of ****

Honda dissed us big time.
Honda dissed us big time.
I would say the MCN picture is closer to reality.
Hopefully it will be lighter, rev higher, have more horsepower, and a slipper clutch. Anything less is unnaceptable. As far as looks. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Hopefully they will use the RC211V bodywork.
It's really academic for me, because I will have my F4i for a LOOOONNNGG time. There may be a RC51 in my future, but the F4i is enough of a 600 for me.
