The "timing" is the exciter wheel I haven't taken off the cover on both engines just yet to see if they're the same size/design or anything yet.

As I mentioned above somewhere I am keeping the carbs, does anyone know if I can just keep the fuel pump from the '06? Or do I have to use the '99 fuel pump?

Thanks for all the replies I appreciate all the help and support

You will need to keep the 99 carbs. The 06 pump puts out way too much pressure.

Thank you

I ran into possibly another issue. The '06 head obviously has a cam sensor on it, will I be able to not plug that in and not worry about it or would it be better to put on the '99 head?

(Engine block on '99 had a hole in it below the head)

Since you're running carbs, the sensor is just a plug. Does the 99 motor have a cam pickup of any kind? You need to put all of the 99 stuff on the 06. Anything extra than the 06 has is unused.

No also I just found out it was actually a knock sensor located on the '06 engine

Why aren't you running the injection? Do you not have all of the parts? It would be a much better end result.

I don't have the wiring harness and I would have to swap out the computer so on and so forth
