Take us through the entire start up process... good power, you hear the fuel injector priming? Then you press the start button, and what do you hear, see, and feel?

when i press the starter button fuel primes but it doesnt seem as loud as it used to be,but it does prime ,but it just turns over untill i run out of battery, when i had the fuel tank off i pulled off fuel lines, i pressed the starter and got covered in gas,i know that was dumb.there are two relays (im assuming thats what they are) on the right side under the body work behind the seat, and they made a clicking noise when it primed.im at a loss. the only other thing i noticed when i had the air box open that i coudnt see a lot of light thruogh the air filter, but like i said , it ran like a charm last summer and its had all its proper maintenance.any help is greatly appreciated, ps im sorry for the delay in responding, i drive a semi for a living and i am away from home regularly and cant always respond right away.also im from the great white north and my bike cover got stolen or blown away over the winter and didnt know till i got home, so it was un protected for maybe a week or so.. again thanks for any help, we only have a short riding season and im burning daylight.
