2005 F4i, No spark or fuel
 

Here is a rundown of my bike, I got it wrecked about two years ago and have slowly been putting it together. I finally got my tank and fuel pump and tried starting it up. It would not start, I read on this forum I had to jump the sensor that would be on the back of the headlight. I did that and for a split second there was a sign of life, almost started, and then I am just back to constant cranking. The only thing that is not plugged in is my front left blinker if that matters in anyway. I have tested the pump and I know it works.

The FI light is on. I know I am not gettting spark or fuel. My first question is, Is there a connector to jump on this model to blink that code? I have a honda manual but it is for a 2001 f4i and it says the jumper is located in the harness near the battery. I dont see it there. There is a jumper harness near the ECU on the rear subframe. Is that the jumper for this bike?

Yup, thats it. That sensor is called a "Bank Angle Sensor" commonly referred to as the BAS or tip over sensor, are sure the jumper is making solid contact to both spade plugs? Are you sure you dont have spark? The BAS kills the fuel pump only, has nothing to do with spark. The FI light (oil too) will stay lit until the bike starts, but you can still jump the service port. Try starting the bike with the kickstand up, as there is a safety switch on it as well, try to bypass that one too, it might have got damaged in the crash.

sense it was crased as you know there can be a million small prblems leading to one large one. but likeskooby said check that senser. but also get yourself a good wiring diagram and check every senser. yes its a HUGE pain in the arse.. but it also shows you if something might have simply just come lose. double check your connectors like your spark plugs, the senser on the air box, no kinks in the fuel lines.

also check the voltage coming out of the ignition switch it should have 12v on all except 1 it should be 9v it is a anti theft thing... just check it it cost me 900 dollars to pay some one to figure this out hope it helps....
