Default 2005 F4i buzzing sound after accident

Recently got in a minor accident - rear ended a truck at ~10-15 mph and dropped the bike on its right side.

Damage appeared to be only cosmetic but upon test riding it after replacing fairings noticed a buzzing sound as soon as I started accelerating.

In the pic you have to zoom in but there's a low hanging cylinder shape with a thin hose (pipe?) that broke off at its connection.

Wondering what those components do.. whether it is safe to take it to my mechanic 10 min away and if I should avoid highway speeds. Thanks in advance for your help!

That's your charcoal canister for fuel vapor emissions. Telling you to remove it would be against the law, but.......

I'm actually surprised it's still there. Usually it's one of the first things to go.
