2004 Honda CBR 600 F4i
Hi folks!
I just discovered this forum, and I'd like to ask you all your comments about this bike that I'm about to purchase http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/kj/...415bm9_20.jpeg It's a 2004 Honda CBR 600 F4i, with a little over 20.000 kms. It looks and feels great. Let me know your thoughts! |
Well it certainly looks like a 2004 F4i.......
You might need a bit for information to get what your looking for. |
Welcome! :)
Any service/maintenance/repair records, title, etc? The left fairing looks replaced or repainted as well as the stator cover, so it may have been laid down. May want to look into that. |
It doesnt look modded. Flush mounts and fender elem/trim is usually one of the first things owners do. All looks stock to me.
Im not sure if that fairing looks repainted or its the picture. I would look for rash in areas people dont hide very well, (shifter/pegs, or blinkers) |
Looks like its got a DB wind screen, possibly stock exhaust. But ya, check if the tread on the tires and whats left of the brakes; if those need replacing that might be a $300-600 cost closely following the purchase of the bike. Just info from my purchasing experience :)

It *looks* like a good bike.
If the side fairings are replacements, ask the owner to take them off for inspection b/f purchase. Also, as said above, maintenance records would be a real plus in knowing the bike's true history & condition. Things aren't always as they appear, so do your due diligence & verify everything. BTW, welcome to the forum. |
Thank you guys!!
This has been very helpful. Something I didn't mention before is that this is going to be my first bike ever, so I want to make sure I make the right choice. I did notice too, after posting here, that the fairing doesn't look as the original for that model of bike. I will look into that with the owner next week when I take the bike for a ride test. I will also try to get some records for possible repairs/maintenance, etc. Thanks a lot and I`ll keep you posted! |
If you find a good 04 F4i, you will love it and it will last you a long time. As long as you respect the power of the twist on the throttle, this is a great first bike.
MSF RiderCourse is always recommended however. Good luck and ride well. And do a split-seat conversion ASAP. ;0) |
