2003 f4i
Hey guys i'm kind of new here but I would like to see what you all thought about this deal. Mt buddy has a 2003 f4i with only 5,000 miles in perfect shape never dropped or really ridden too hard either. He let me take it out yesterday and I did about 120 miles on it without a hitch. He was asking $4,000 for it and I talked him down to $3,500 does that sound like a pretty good deal to you all? Thanks.

It all depends on where you live and how much they go for there.
Price varies drastically in different areas. Near Toronto, Ontario I paid $4,200 with 16,000km and that was a great deal but go to some states and they would laugh at that. But from my opinion it sounds good and F4i's are great bikes. |
That's a hell of a good deal, actually. One thing to take note of is that it's a 8-year old bike that only has 5,000 miles on it. I don't know your buddy, so it could be authentic, it could have a different instrumental gauge, or (most likely - I'm an optimist) it sat in one place for a looooong time.
Going with the stationary bike scenario, you'll need to do a few things -- most likely all fluids, battery, check brakes, etc etc etc. But if you like it, and you have a friend who knows bikes and you get his his ok, then I'd say it's a GREAT deal. Good luck! Also, PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. |
Take it. $3.5 is about what people ask for these bikes with normal mileage.
Truly undamaged and mileage that low? You'd beat what I paid for Ororo with 2.5k and I know I got a good deal |
yeah i used to ride with him all the time then i sold my streetbike, he's a guy with alot of hobbies and the sportbike got pushed to the side then he had a kid and his wife is making him sell it. I do know it's actual mileage and the battery went dead over the winter so it's got a new one in it. I'm kind of pumped about it that sounded like a great deal to me.

That is one hell of a deal. If you truly know the guy, then I doubt he would have changed the instrument cluster or something. F4I are such great bikes! I got my 2002 F4I with 29k miles for $1600 but that was during winter and the guy needed money bad. Sold it for 3k and I bought a 600RR. A friend of mine wanted to buy my RR so I sold it, then bought back my very first F4I and thats what I ride right now. Guy only put 900 miles and paid 3k. Hope all goes well for you man! Good luck and ride safe!

$3,500 for a minty, low mileage bike where you know the history? Sounds good to me.
