Default 2002 F4i missing parts

Got myself a 2002 F4i in pieces that would crank and not start for a great deal. supposedly all the pieces were there. (they were not) Had LOTS of wiring issues (at least 50 butt connectors with different color wires on either end). After about 20 hours of diagnostic and rewiring it starts and runs. WooHoo. A million thanks to a thousand threads on this forum that I read.
Now to reassemble. Turns out, among the many things I'm missing is the "undertail" or "rear fender." What is that part actually called and is there a secret website to find them at. It's the black plastic that holds battery/PCM and the fairings mount to it. Also is that piece specific to the dual seat setup because those are what I got? If I get the banana seat version will it work well enough to get it on the road? I'm not looking for perfection here.

Rear fender is No. 11 here:

- 80105-MBW-A10

Almost certainly unobtainium as NOS but a bike breaker or the bay will be best bet.

The banana seat is 80100-MBW-A50 and unsure if it will fit as it does look quite different.

Good luck.

Dang. I already had both those tabs open. How complicated is it to do a full switch over to the banana seat?

Do a trawl on here, I'm sure I have seen a guide to swap from dual to banana somewhere.
You would need the subfame / seat and associated bits and bobs.

its easy to do, going to banana is an easier switch as people are usually going to dual seat so the parts might be easier to find.

That's exactly what I've found on here. Only problem is, I already have all the stuff for the dual seat except for that one plastic piece. I'm going to attempt to fabricate something out of aluminum I think. Ill post some pictures if I can manage to figure out the exact measurements. I see a lot of Cardboard Aided Drafting in my future.

This part is still available I think.

I'm pretty sure that's for the carbureted model. The title says F4I, but the description says F4 and doesn't look like the ones I've seen for the F4I. I believe it needs 2 holes on each side for the rear fenders to mount to.

Side note: I did make a crude battery box and bolt it to the frame for a test ride. Bike wouldn't rev over 6500RPM. Then after about 3 miles it just died. the main power fuse (20Amp that's in it's own little plug box) pops as soon as I turn the key on now.

I can't believe there aren't any on ebay. When I was looking there were several. Guess it depends on where you live as well!

Goo dluck! I like the split seat better, looks more sporty on the sport bike (my opinion of course).

Oh, that's everyone's opinion. It's why the parts are hard to find. People swap the whole subframe from the 01-03 f4i's onto later models to get that look. That's why they're so hard to find. Even broke down on the side of the road, missing several pieces it still looks better than the banana seat. Lol
