I happen to know there are a bazillion F4i owners from the ATL area right here on this forum. I would think you could find someone to help with the 30 minute install for the price of a few beers. Might even gain a riding buddy.

I don't think you have to be mechanically-incline to ride a motorcycle; that's like saying if you drive a car you should be able to work/fix on your car. Not an absolute truth.

But I will say, the longer you own a bike the more likely you will begin to put your hands under it. This is my first bike; and while when I first got it I was retarted with the lingo and the most basic of question/answers was chinese arithmetic (no offense). Shees, I still don't know what OEM stands for. But through research, being on boards like these and asking relevent question, I've moved up to changing my oil. (Yeah, I know the most basic of basic stuff.) It made me feel good, and gave me some confidence to do more. But I'm not going from changing oil to changing sprockets. I know my limits...

I think mechanical experience comes after having a bike, not before.

Gotta start somewhere Bonafide. Before long you'll be changing your own tires and replacing the shift star!

No, I don't think you HAVE to be mechanically-inclined. I just don't see how people who aren't can get interested in motorcycles. They're the pinnacle of human transportation engineering (well, not Harleys...). In my view, to be a motorcyclist is to be significantly interested in how they work. Besides, it doesn't hurt to know what's what if you get stranded or receive an estimate from a shop..."what do you mean muffler bearings?".
