2001 F4i starting issue
Mate of mine bought a 2001 CBR600F4i today, picked it up, about 200 miles from home.
On the way back home, pulled in a few times, and it started back up fine each time.
However, about 10 miles from, we made another stop, and the bike failed to start.
It was like the battery was completely dead. There was a tiny kick, and that was it.
It started fine on a push.
Rode it home the last few miles, and left it in the shed.
Came back out 2 hours later, and it started fine, 3 times in a row..
Dont know what the problem is now, whether it was the battery or something else?
There was a lot of heavy rain during the journey, if that would have made any difference?

update today.
Went out to it this morning, it started fine.
Rode if for a bit, stopped, failed to start.
Left it for a while, and it started again.
Its only starting when it is cold.
Possibly the altenator frying the battery?
We will have a multi meter tomorrow, so will test it with that.

bypass the tip over sensor and see if that doesnt fix your problem. google it and you just find out exactly how to do it, its pretty simple and shouldnt take more than five minutes. ive been doing alot of research on the topic because im having similar problems. and check the tip over sensor relay at above the the right foot peg, you have to take the tail fairing off and they are right there on the subframe. keep us posted man

i had the same problem. first thing i did when checking this out was pull off my rear fairing nice n SLOW. i did that because i wanted to see if anything was out of place and yup.. i noticed somehow my R/R got disconnected 3 days earlier upon installing my fairing. only reason i lasted so long was its a brand new battery. next check was the tip over sensor and then the kickstand (because it has to do with engine cut-off). lastly i checked my stator just for giggles but honestly that doesnt seem to be your prob. let us know if any of this helps
