The fuel pump on my 2001 f4i is not getting juice, it is in good condition and works when jumped. The battery is good and is supplying the ECM with power but power is not getting to the fuel pump from the ECM.

I have to wait till Thursday to swap a ECM with a buddy in the mean time does anyone have any idea what will prevent power from the ECM to the fuel pump?

Fuse, damaged wiring harness, damaged fuel ignition switch (the nice big red one), bad ECU (unlikely).

If it's the fuse, I shall point and laugh at you briefly, then welcome you to the club of people who forget fuses exist. :D

Edit: Could also be a bad bank angle sensor, or goofy wiring in between it and the ECU.

Also may be the engine cut relay on the back right portion of the tail. If the relay is bad the symptoms would be pretty much as you describe.

like the previous post I’ve taken off all my fairings bikes being painted so perfect opportunity to figure out why it’s not priming the pump before starting took the pump out tested it it fine. Fuel Relay is out and hopefully that the only problem besides the guy I got mine for tried installing different headlights with halo’s ? Lights worked for five years last fall they stopped. Put a new AGM battery in it and doesn’t prime and check your BAS sensor behind your headlights if it’s not right the bike won’t start! I’m dealing with this as we speak! Good luck

In the twelve intervening years between posts, I'm hoping they got it figured out... :D
