2001 F4i Fan Fuse blowing off frequently
Hi, I bought a used 2001 F4i last week. The fan fuse was blowing off if I wait in traffic signals for a min. The temp indicator shotup 250+ and started blinking. I took to the shop, after diagnosis, they said that factory recommened fuse 10amp is not really adequate and replaced with 15amp.
But I'm really worrying much, is that an accepted fact by Honda? or will more amp lead to other serious problems in future?
Please help, I'm even scared to idle the engine for more than 15 secs.
Thanks in advance.

RE: 2001 F4i Fan Fuse blowing off frequently
This was a common problem on older German cars, basically the fan would pull too much current, so you would put in a bigger fuse or lube up the motor really well with ATF fluid, until it got really bad and the fuse box would start to melt at which point you would buy a new fan motor or assembly. Not sure on the F4i if the motor can be lubed or if servicable. See if it spins freely.
