2001 CBR 600 f4i questions
 

I just bought a 2001 f4i today and had some questions. Ive only owned one other CBR and that was a 1987 CBR 600f hurricane so there are definitely some new things to me. First off the handlebars? can they be lowered and raised? i heard somebody say something about adjusting the height. At what temp does the fan kick in or does it always run? anybody know where i can get cheap f4i parts (headlight, handlebars, upper stay bracket, rear brake/right foot peg bracket). And anything else that I should know about this CBR model?

Bike was wrecked and im looking to replace the cosmetic parts of it.

You dont have much adjustabillity with the stock clip-ons becase they are mounted above the triple tree. With aftermarket ones you might get more adjustabillity but it depends on the ones you order. Fan kicks on in the 220-230 range. Your best bet for parts is ebay, can find some great deals there.

Other things to know include:
-The CCTL on these things suck, be prepared to replace it. If you hear a rattling arond 5k rpms, its the CCTL.

-The stock tires arent great, replace them at the first signs of wear.

Thanks for the info! do you know if 2005 f4i parts (the ones i listed) would fit my 2001 f4i?

Go to the Ron Ayers Microfiche, look up the part in question and compare both years. If the part number(s) is the same, then they're compatible.

The only 2004+ parts that will not fit an 01-03 model are the tail cosmetics (fairing, tail light, seat, etc) and subsequently the subframe. Everything else is exchangeable.

My fan kicks on at 223 EVERYTIME like clockwork....

Second the Ebay thing - lots of stuff out there...

Do you think a 2005 600rr left and right clip on handlebars would fit the 2001 f4i? they look very similar, and the rr looks like the handlebars are raised up slightly higher, which would probably eliminate the need for the risers i wanted to put in

Fork tubes are different sizes, I think. Also the seat sucks. It is like a rock. Corbin seats are big money but they are worth it.
