1st post is the best!!

ok so I got my bike about a month ago and it wasn't running, well through all the hard work and waiting..i finally got all my parts through ebay, parts include, new battery, new airbox, new ECU computer. I just put them all on today and everything fit perfect, now heres the problem. The bike is turning..just not turning over, and im in no way mad about that. hell im just happy im getting power..but if anyone knows what could be stopping the the bike from turning over..let me know..thanks ya'll:icon_bike:

getting any gas?

myk3wa5h 08-09-2010 10:24 PM

not to sure about that..a friend told me i may need to clean out the fuel pump or something along those lines..the bike has been sitting for about 6-7 months easily maybe even more..may need new gas

well, turn the key, and tell me if u hear it priming and if your lights come on.

im not being mean, but check to see if u have gas.
let me know what happens then ill see what i can think of

its cool..lights and all the lights come on..don't know what priming means *hints first time rider* it says my gas gauge is full, my oil light is blinking everything looks to be good..just not cutting on

when u turn the key and as the tach and speedo is going crazy youll "should" hear a whine. kinda like a buzzing for like 2 seconds or so, thats the prime

myk3wa5h 08-09-2010 10:47 PM

just went and tried it..no priming sound..just the numbers and rpms going crazy then nothing..

ok then theres your problem, no fuel, check all the fuses, they r under the front seat kinda behind the battery
if they r all good try to bypass your bas

teko1020 08-10-2010 09:10 AM

Why is it that when someone mentions their fuel pump not priming that everyone immediately jumps to "bypass your BAS." I'm sorry... but the last thing you want to do when troubleshooting is jump to a conclusion and start bypassing safeties.

Check your killswitch... Check the main harness under the left side fairing.

thanks to both of you guys..i got the problem solved, which was bad fuse and no gas..pretty simple stuff.bike is up and running and pics will be up shortly..again thanks a ton..

and what is a "bas" for future references?
