And if by drastic you mean like you said (low end accelleration) at cost of a bit of top speed then that's just what I want.

Play around here - https://www.gearingcommander.com/index.htm. You'll be able to see how much each change will affect your rpm's and top speed. I started off thinking I would go the -1/+2 route but after testing the -1 first, I decided that was enough for me.
