there's still a dead spot between gears...
take it to the track or do some hardcore canyon dancing...

i keep my revs at 6-7K while commuting and way up in at the track and twists...but if on the streets and you're caught anywhere low and need the juice, you'll be thanking your gears...

love the canyons, ride them every weekend- rev way higher than 6-7 when I'm there. Maybe i got lucky b/c I don't notice a dead spot between my gears at all- i shift very high in the revs though. If i need real power I just twist and this sucker throws me back like a rocket (came in real handy a couple of times- #$%%#$ soccer moms). I do have the rr though... maybe the couple of extra horses helps?

O well, if I feel i ever need faster accel, i guess i can do the mod, but not for now. Be nice if the spocket was the only thing you need to change

Thanks for the help.

I have never really noticed a dead spot.

I am usually doing 6-7K in town and upwards of 10k in the twisties.

Just running a PCIII and a slip-on with a Hindle Map.

Lower sprockets just aren't an option for me right now because I plan on making some long runs on the bike soon. 6 hours to deals by secondary highways. I just don't need the added punch right now. Maybe if I ever get bored with the stock power curve.

Well, my brother has an 05 gsxr 600 and my buddy has a gsxr 1000, 05. With the sprockets I am a lot faster now but the reason I want the ignition mod is so I can tune it to 92 octane(here in wa) and then another map for 101 octane for when I am at the track. Is that stupid?

The cool part with the PCIIIusb is that you can add stuff like the ignition module later.

That is about the only reason I have thought about trading up from my PCIII. That way I can go with the quickshifter and ignition module later if I wish. They also have that cool LCD dash that you can get for it.

I just went -1 in front with a 520 chain for less binding. I feel a difference and wheelies are much easier. The advantage in my mind to just -1 in front is that is does not affect your normal hiway speeds that much. Maybe an additional 500 RPMS at 70 mph.

Yeah the +2 in the back with the -1 in the front... it reduced my top end a lot and raised my rpms alot but thats ok because its better then expected

I would be curious to see how that feels. But I am running a Yosh TRS and a PCIII with a MAP downloaded from the Dynojet website. Last night I hooked the laptop up to the PCIII and installed the accelerator pump function. Just sitting there it sounded better. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet though. My boss (me) is working me too hard!

Blackdog-what is this LCD thing you speak of??[sm=drooldude.gif]
