I agree I would totally rather have the split seat conversion, but the cowl is better than nothing for the time being. It looks better at some angles than it does others.

I just removed the spoiler and leave it with the two holes since it is covered by the cowl. As far as how the cowl is attached, it comes with a strap you attach to your seat and then you are supposed to put some screws through the cowl into some clips which hold the strap on the seat. Its a pain in the ***. My cowl sits pretty tight on the bike without it so I didn't bother to screw it on...mostly cause my wife was pissed when I put it on there that I couldn't easily give her a ride anymore. Without the screws I showed her I could just remove it...course then she complained about the missing spoiler....ah women! I haven't had any problems with it coming lose when riding...yet. My advice if you are going to get one, wait and find one that is color matched to your bike. I couldn't find one at the time so got one that I painted myself which was also a pain in the ***, then found a color matched one for less somewhere else.
