06 cbr f4i charging issue
Alright guys is anybody knowledgeable in electrical charging systems.
Here's my process that I did: ----------------------------------------------- Put a new stator in. Checked the DC voltage at the battery terminals with voltmeter and bike on. Volts read 12.3 Unplugged regulator from wiring harness, and unplugged stator from regulator. Turned bike on, tested DC volts from stator plug and couldn't figure out which port to do positive negative. Got mad, left garage bike still not charging |
Stator doesn't put out DC.... It puts out AC, hence the R/R, that converts it to DC, to charge the battery. YouTube how to check a stator. They're all pretty much the same, whether its a Harley or a Honda.

Check ohms at the stator. open to ground, circuit to each other.
You do know to check the charging output at the battery at 5k rpms, right? They don't charge much, if any, at idle. |
At 5k rpms it's charging at 18- 19 volts, is that to much?
