04 F4i transmission problems
I am new to the site but have learned quite a bit by searching but still have a few questions. I jsut purchase my 04 F4i and knew it had some transmission problems, it jumps out of 2nd gear at high RPMs. I have searched and believe that it is a shift fork. IS the transmission for the 04 F4I the same as one for 04 CBR RR. Thre are a lot of parts available for the RR but it doesnt say it is compatible with the F4i. Can somebody please help me. If anybody has any of these parts please let me know. I am also needing the rear fairing and a banana seat (want the banana seat for my girl and I currently have a racing tail on it). Thanks for all your help.

almost nothing off a 600rr is transferrable to an F4i
you can check an parts microfiche and compare part numbers for anything specific you're looking at
i usually use mrcycles.com
also, IMHO the transmission is the hardest part of a bike to work on...are you planning on tackling it on your own? if not i wouldn't get any parts, they'd do that at a shop for you. but it will cost an arm and a leg worth of labor charge to get it done

If its slipping out it could the the fork or the dog. Best bet is the got to a place like bikebandit and but brand new parts that you need. However you wont know what you until your crack open the case. While your in there also go thru the gears and any that are wore replace them while your there. Also on the f4i your dont need to drop the motor out just remove the fairings all of them, gas tank and air box. them drain your fuilds and flip the bike over on it's back.
