I am new to the site but have learned quite a bit by searching but still have a few questions. I jsut purchase my 04 F4i and knew it had some transmission problems, it jumps out of 2nd gear at high RPMs. I have searched and believe that it is a shift fork. IS the transmission for the 04 F4I the same as one for 04 CBR RR. Thre are a lot of parts available for the RR but it doesnt say it is compatible with the F4i. Can somebody please help me. If anybody has any of these parts please let me know. I am also needing the rear fairing and a banana seat (want the banana seat for my girl and I currently have a racing tail on it). almost nothing off a 600rr is transferrable to an F4i

you can check an parts microfiche and compare part numbers for anything specific you're looking at
i usually use mrcycles.com

also, IMHO the transmission is the hardest part of a bike to work on...are you planning on tackling it on your own? if not i wouldn't get any parts, they'd do that at a shop for you. but it will cost an arm and a leg worth of labor charge to get it done

 

I am going to have my friend fix it for me. He works on bikes. I jsut need to get the parts for him. Does anybody know wher to get a transmission rebuild kit? Do they make a kit? I have tried ebay but so far nothing for the F4i.

What did he mean by this? I need to do some tranny work and if I don't need to drop the motor it makes the job easier.
