so my issue is in 2nd gear it feels like it comes out of gear and back in under full throttle about 4 or 5 times till redline (not clutch slip) and in 3rd it wont stay in more than 2 seconds and kick back down to 2nd. so i dropped the oil pan and found 2 chips in the drum on 2nd and 3rd gear. pics are below. any experts have info on this being my cause??

2nd gear:

if you're inclined enough to know how all that stuff works it should be fairly obvious that that is a problem..

You didn't check the gear cogs while you were in there?

Did you see metal in the pan? If there was metal in there, it probably is the cogs. If not, bent shift forks...

well, problem is fixed, the drum had nothing to do with it. somehow the bike was so beat down the dogs on the gears were rounded and not catching, just popping back out. anyway for future refferance, a trans swap was required.
