hey guys. I have an 02 f4i. and I was wondering if anyone know why the FI light comes on and stay solid. I start my bike and it takes about 5 sec for it to come on. but when it does it kicks up my rpm about 500. and then stays on solid. does anyone have any ideas what this could be. thanks

 

that happend to mine.. the speed sensor needed to be replaced

 

what type of fuel are you running. i remember i had a bad tank of gas and this happened.

 

I'm running 91 gas. and for the speed sensor. do you think my sprockets would have anything to do with it because the guy I bought the bike from went -1 front and +5 or something like that in rear. so I know my speedo is off by alot it says I'm going faster then I really am. but why would that make my rpm kick up 500 when the fi turns on after I start it?

 

no, Gearing has nothing to do with the bike running idle while it is not moving

 

does anyone know if my o2 sensor has anything to do with it. because the guy I bought it from did headers all the way back. and since the new pipes didn't have a bung for the o2 sensor he just cut the wires?

 

make sure your sensor is hooked up..you will probably have to lift the tank up to see it..but you wont have to take it all the way off, thats what happened to mine..and if its hooked up..take it out and dust it out a little bit.
