02 f4i front axle?
 

So I'm working on a 02 F4i project and removed the front wheel. When I slid the axle out, 2 flat washers that are thin fell down from the the right side. Never seen those on a front axle before and looked on a diagram but couldn't find anything. Are they suppose to be on there and where? Thanks

Not original part for sure. Does the bike have the original wheel ?

Yes it's the original wheel. The two washers are like paper thin. It doesn't make any sense why they would be on there.

yes very odd.... check your bearing on that side.. what about the fork tubes are they OEM??

Bearings are good and forks are oem.

looked at a parts break down for both standard and cali model and as suspected they are identical no washers... all i can think is either someone worked on it and found a alignment issue in the forks and corrected it. or after torquing wheel there was undesired play and someone corrected it... just thinking i would put them back when you re-assemble or assemble and check for play in the wheel
