02-03 Hotbodies Undertail Light Retrofit
 

After seeing 2 F4is in the area with the crappy stock lights I decided to share how i upgraded my lights.

I bought the 1.85 Round LED boards at

and also got two of these:
Custom LED Magic Blinker Relay - Convert 2 wire LED blinker to 3 wire

To make them work you have to pop out the stock lights and remove the lens from the backing. Some suggest heat, some suggest dremel. I used a dremel and wished i would have used heat.

The 1.85" boards fit in the lens perfectly without the backing. Just use some silicon in the edge of the board and coat the entire back of the board to protect the solders.

Make sure when you put them in you line them both up. Otherwise they may be clocked differently. It would look terrible.

Once the get them back together silicon them back into the undertail and wire them up. They are way brighter.

Hey I know this is a little older post but my 03 f4i has a hotbodies undertail. Lights are junk as usual need to replace. I've been looking at customled.com and was curious if they can be set up like the hotbodies lights where you have the integrated signals in as well. Because I want to set up running/brake lights and signals all in one using the custom led lights. If possible what do i need to make the integrated turn signals also. Any help would be great thanks.
