01 F4i wont stay idiling

Hey all,
I've returned to this site for more help.

Friends ride wont stay idling with kick stand down after 1 or 2 mins.
a
Also she has noticed that while in idle at a stop lite,... the nuetral indication flickers.
Also she reports hard to find neutral at a stop.

I'm thinking the neutral sensor is indicating its is gear by mistake (faulty indication) or...its real and it is slipping into gear.

I know a lot of you probably know something about this so please comment and if you can.

Thanks for all your help.

The neautial flickering i had the other day also. changed the oil and that seemed to clear it up and no longer happens.

About getting into neutral. Could be as simple as the clutch cable isnt adjusted properly, or may also be a warmed clutch steel. I had a similar issue on the 84 suzuki gs1150. i changed out the clutch and BAM, was fixed. also adjusted clutch properly.

About the idleing. Make sure all the hoses are attached (there should be 2 that connect to the back side of the air box on the bottom. MAKE SURE THERE ON THERE. other wise its sucking in air and at a low rpm it cant stay running after the bike warms up. On a cold start the wax idler will keep the bike running at a higher rpm where the extra air makes little difference. But after 2 mins or so after it warms up and idle goes down, rpm isnt high enough. Also there is one that is soposta go to the left side of the airbox on the bottom. There is a map sencer. make sure that is also in place and not sucking in air.

Hope that helps out some.
