01 F4I.....Good Deal?

So I bought an 01 F4I with 5000 miles on it. Has like new tires on it, fender eliminator, flush mount front signals. The current owner said the previous owner had dome some damage to the bike, but it does have a clean title. I kind of know the current owner and he has had the bike a coupe yrs and has barely rode it while he has owned it. The tank is the original white color with no dents, but the red stripes have been replaced with black. The rest of the plastic is all flat/matte black. the plastic has been repaired in a couple places but looks decent. I would like to sand and repaint sometime. I only paid 2300 for the bike. Good Deal?

One more question, if you rev the bike to about 5000 and let off the throttle, you hear a rattle sound for a second, I would believe this to be the CCTL, can anyone confirm this. Also heard it some on my test ride. Did not seem like anything major to keep me from buying the bike.

I bought the F4I because my F3 was parked in a garage for the winter, someone lost brakes, drove through the garage door and broke all the plastic. Insurance is totalling it but hope to buy it back and put new plastic on it.

Sounds pretty good to me. I sold my 01 with over 12k miles on it and rattle canned fairings and a scratched up tail for the same price. She was mechanically flawless though and ran perfectly so as long as you have no mechanical issues either you probably did fine.

Yeah more than likely its the cct if you hear that rattle between 5-7k, if you replace it with a manual chain tensioner its a $50 part, i think the oem automatic ones are like $70-80, but im not sure. Its an easy fix, just kind of difficult to get to to replace. Theres tons of threads and how-to's on here about replacing it though so just follow those or check out some youtube videos about it and you should be good to go.

Bought mine in worse condition with more miles on it for more than that. I'd say you got a pretty good deal.
