check the fuel relay under the seat on the right side of the bike. it is the one in the back. the first one is the starter relay, turn key on and kill switch on and you should hear a click in the relay. if not the relay is bad. you can use your headlight relay to confirm, they are the same. its by the bas between headlights. if that is not it spray carb cleaner in carbs and see if it pops to confirm spark. if no spark check the zener diod in the ignition. the pink wire, it needs to have between 8.5/9 volts on the out going side of the harness. if not bike thinks it is being stolen and spark and fuel are shut down by the ecu. good luck that is my problem.

The short that I had caused my headlights not to come on, and my fuel pump to not prime. The two are linked together somehow. Are you sure your bulbs are burnt out? If the pump is priming when it's connected directly, then there's something else between the battery and the pump that's causing the problem.

So I tested the fuel cut off relay today and hooked it up directly to the battery. It clicked, however I have a multi meter connected to the wires going out and no power. So it's like the power is going into the relay and not going out even though it clicks. I'm guessing that means it is bad?

ok so i got the bike running! it was a bad ground in one of the electrical connectors. impossible to find unless you have a multimeter.

Told you it was probably a short =P Glad you got her running, electrical gremlins are the worst. Pretty sure mine was the same issue, but I never nailed it down to which connector was the problem.
