Default Starting w/ kickstand?

Ok so I saw this video on youtube of a guy with a 1993 CBR 600F2 and he happened to start up his bike with the kickstand down!!! When I got mine the guy told me it won't turn on with the kickstand down/light on and it will shut off if you put it down while the engine is on. Any way to get it started with the kickstand on the ground???

Not 100% on the F2 but most bikes will start with the kickstand down as long as it is in neutral, once you put it into gear it will shut off.
Have you tried it in Neutral?
If you want it so you can have it in gear witht he kickstand down (Which I highly disregard doing) you have to bypass the kickstand switch.

Let some other F2 owners chime in but you might have a problem with your kickstand switch as I would assume it should start with the kickstand down

First, download the workshop manual.

Second, it sounds like you have a faulty neutral indicator switch and it isn't telling the kickstand switch the bike is neutral. Find the switch and check for damaged wiring, if the wiring is ok remove the switch and try to clean it.

yeah mine starts with the stand down as long as it is in neutral. Like jeffjones says if you put it into gear with the stand down it just cuts out, simple as.

this sounds more like it because when i turn on my bike the neutral light only comes on sometimes not every time.. maybe i'll just go to my mechanic and ask him about it see if he knows where its at cuz i have no idea about all that wiring

I honestly can't remember where I downloaded mine, but If you Google "Honda CBR 600 F2 manual" the first thing that comes up is a PDF of the full service manual.
