Default New Engine troobleshooting

Well this weekend I got my new motor in. I was up until 4 sunday morning but we got it. everything is plugged up and bolted in. She turned over right away on the first test but then we shut it off because the exhaust wasnt on. I put the exhaust and chain on today and tried cranking it but it wont turn over for anything. it just cranks and cranks and cranks. the choke is on (tried it off too), fuel is on, all pumps are hooked up but it just doesnt want to start. Ive tried rollin it down a few big hill and jump starting it but it just gives out after a second or two. spark plugs are good too. I have no clue what it could be and really need some help

check the exhaust. maybe something made a home in it and is plugging it enough to keep it from firing.

Make sure you plugged the vacuum line in on the gas tank to the carb. That was my rookie mistake haha

I was thinking that was it but its plugged in but on my original engine it was on the first carb and on this one it was on the second. is that the whole cause to this problem?

Make sure the fuel lines are not pinched with any vacuum lines. Use a flashlight and follow every square inch and you will probabley find the problem.

normally the number one intake has the fitting for the vac line to the petcock. If number two is being used then number one needs to be capped off.

Found the problem. The vacuum line from the 2nd carb needed a hose plugged into a nipple next to the fuel line from the gas tank. didnt notice it before. started right up and now shes running like a champ. havent put the rest of the exhaust on yet but im falling in love with just the open header. really wish they had elictric cutouts for bikes so i could switch whenever I wanted to be loud or quiet. thanks for all the help though guys
