So I was wondering if anyone new on a certain jet-kit that will work for me.. Im planing On getting a stage1 kit, but I need the details for its install.Pilot Jet/Main Jet/Needle Clip Position/Fuel Screw Setting? ne advise plz

 

Factory and Dynojet are the two main sellers of jet kits. I recently bought little teeny washers from Radio shack and shimmed the stock needles with two small washers under the head of the needle. Seemed to work as well as my previous attempts with a Factory brand kit. Plus. the stock needles are much more robust than the kit ones and should wear better in the long run. The washers come in a small bag of various sizes. Look in the connector drawer of Radio Shacks widget box. They all have one. This works for a slip on system. A full race type system would probably need a +1 or +2 kit depending on racing or street use.

 

+1 ^^^ I have a k&n and a yoshi slipon, although it was welded on. when I took my carbs apart to clean them, they had the small washers shimming the needles also. Runs good. Pulls hard with no hesitation. Might want to look into that option.

 

Yea I'm thinking I'm gonna go with a stage one jet kit. Just because my bike deserves it. So now I'm wondering if anyone has the yoshi rs3 slip on with a stage 1 jet kit and what spacer count they went on

 

I have the dynojet stage 1 in my 94. full vance and hines exhaust and k&n. set it to what the directions said and it runs mint. the clip on the needle is at the 2nd position. air/fuel is set at 2.5 turns and came with a washer for each slide along with the stock ones that were in it so technically 2 washers per slide. I would go with stage 1 especially if its just a slipon

 

oh yea the mains are 125 or 128 I don't remember exactly but the biggest that came with the kit. dynojets numbers are different than other jet kits because the stock jet is 135? if I remember right.. anyways even though the dynojet says 125 or 128 its bigger than the stock jet.. and didn't have to touch the pilot jet. you also block one hole on the slides with epoxy. very simple and easy upgrade
