Could be if you attached it to the wrong side of the switch. Where did the wires ground before? Is the side you attached to the ground for the starter switch? You have another post going on with your problems. Try to keep it on one post so people can follow what you are doing. Check the y/r wire from the starter switch. It is the ground wire. If you attached your instrument wires to anything else it is wrong.

I attached a wiring diagram to your other post.

Andddd fixed so far, had a weak ground or posi wire that was touching the frame. Ended up head shrink clamping the smurf out of every wire I could and took it on a spin, after zip tieing the poop out of everything. + I got my speedo again, long live the stunt bike!
