Headlight Help

Okay, so the guy I bought my f2 from recently put some really ugly headlights on it and apparently didn't want to wire it in an intelligent way..

There are two lights (presumably a hi and lo beam) that are hooked into the left turn switch (headlight goes off when the right turn switch is actuated; there are no turn signals on the bike).

Some pictures:

Both the black and white wires is spliced into each respective wire from the second headlight.

The black wire goes up to a bolt next the the left handle bar. The white wire is spliced into a blue wire (which I can't identify). What is this black box?

I also found four wires (2 blue/grey or white, one white and one green) which seem unused and I would like to know where they go

If anyone can explain in great detail what these wires are and how the headlights should actually be wired I would greatly appreciate it. The front end is a mess (stuff zip-tied to the frame), so if anyone has pictures of what is should look like I would appreciate that as well.

Thanks a Ton
Matt

The box is most likly the turn signal relay (should be three wires grey, black/brown, and dark green). The factory wiring for the headlight is dark green (groung/negative), blue (high beam positive), and white (low beam positive). The only factory blue /white (there is no blue/grey) is coming from the fuse box (right side below clipon) though the starter switch and to the dimmer switch to supply power the headlight (high/low). The only factory black wire (its actually black/brown) coming out of the left clipon is for the right turn signal (which might explain why the headlight goes out when you hit the right signal if thats were he tried to tap in for power). Sorry no pics this is the best I could do looking at the schematic. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the help racerxone, I will have to go wire hunting when I get home.

If I put low pos to one headlight and high pos to the other, will I be able the splice the two negs together to get the hi/lo switch to work properly? Or did I over compilicate it? Ultimately this is to pass inspection in Missouri, so if anyone knows if I even need the hi (from what I understood from the online handbook if you have the switch, the hi/lo must function) that could help as well. I really want to get this sorted out though because I want to put the f4i headlight and turn signals on it eventually.

Pictures are still appreciated :)

That will work but when you flip to high the low light will go out. You wont have more light unless the high light is a higher wattage than the low. Im not familiar with Missouri vehicle code but like you stated if it came with it, it has to be functional. I'll try and get some pics from my F2.

Went through some wires this morning and found the four wires that would normally power the headlight. I know there should be 2 blue wires, but what are they both for? Do they both do the exact same thing?
