Fender Eliminator

Hello, I am new on here so I am sure this h
as been posted many times. So I apologize. I have a super cherry 93 w only 5k. Its 100% stock and in amazing condition. I am really into a factory look but I am really considering a fender eliminator kit. I did a quick search on google and ebay. I think only one company makes a "kit". Would this be the case for the F2? I really don't want to spend a lot of time and $ on an eliminator. And I think a easy fit kit would be the best for me. If anyone has any pictures I would love to see.

the search function will find all the other threads on fender elimination.

I just hacked my stock fender a bit to make it smaller but I didn't want to eliminate it as the cops around here will give tickets for non-stock signals/brake lights.

Perhaps I might be of some assistance...PM me; I may be able to help you figure out some options. Also, Bently's right. "Search" is your friend, trust me!

I also just chopped my fender, repositioned the no. plate and added some led indicators. It does look good but im not 100% happy with it.

And yes there is only one fender eliminator you can buy for the f2, and IMHO it looks like ****.

+1 on the just chopping it, although I did mine a bit more "gracefully" with a dremel, some traced lines and all that jazz.

The process I would use goes as follows:

1- Get an awl or something else with a good edge for marking the fender plastic.
2- Using said tool, trace where the tail plastics meet the fender. Remove tool plastics.
3- Remove blinkers if you aren't keeping them.
4- Remove absurd plate assembly and plate light. Cut plate light wires.
5- Place plate as high up on fender as you can get it, and dig the look.
6- Use these to mount your plate. They double as plate lights. Attach wires in parellel.to
7- You'll want aftermarket blinkers ideally, as the stock ones are friggen retarded. (Get DOT approved if the police around you are assholes). Drill hole for mounting them in fender with at least 1/4" gap between the hole you drill and the line you drew for the tail plastic, along with a 1/4" gap from the side to the rear plastic edge (where the plate mounts)
8- Remove plate. Measure 1/4" beneath both holes you drilled and mark them. Using a straight edge, line up with both 1/4" marks beneath your holes. Trace the straight edge along the side. Trace that line out both sides.
9- Cut the plastic along the lines you just drew. The fender is now notably cleaner, but not quite there. The sides still need trimming.
10- With a pencil, on just one side, trace a smooth curve starting from 2" or so past the hole you drilled for the tail lights out to the edge where the side and the rear of the fender meet. Try and have it follow an exponential curve, and always leave a 1/4" for the turn signal hole.
11- Take carboard. Place behind the curve you just made. Trace it with a sharpie onto the cardboard. Cut out curve.
12- Take cutout, to the other side. Trace cutout with a pencil onto the fender. Cut the curve.
13- Clean up all edges so they are smooth and clean.

You now have identical side curves, proper holes for mounting your turn signals, and your fender is significantly more trimmed and streamlined. It has plate lights so it's legal, and if you used aftermarket DOT turn signals you are legal there as well.

Mission successful!

Um...pretty much what Jesse said, I just didn't want to post it here...I thought that might be frowned upon:icon_eek:!

Also, I wanted to get some clarification from zhendrix. As strange as it may sound, I've found that sometimes when people say "fender eliminator", they're actually thinking of an "undertail"...just wanted to be sure.

Btw, like, +1000 to Jesse for the write-up. Well said, dude!

I wrote something to that affect once and asked for it to get stickied. No dice.

If some one nearby Portland Oregon wants to do this mod, i'll help you do it as long as you help me document it for the forum.

At some point I'll stop being a pompous ass on this forum. I've got an 06 GSXR 750 now :D

Aww come on...what fun would that be, Jesse?

BTW...When did you pick up your Gixxer?
