Default F3 Jet Kits

Can you use a factory pro jet kit for an F3 in our F2 carbs??? I found the F3 kit at half the price.

I don't think so, as the F3 utilizes RAM air (or a variation of such) the F3 will need larger jets and possibly a different needle.

I would stick with the F2 kit, as it has been R&D'd for the F2.

The correct answer is "yes." I think what you meant to ask was "SHOULD I?" and the answer is "no."

While the needle size in the F3 jetkit is smaller than stock (I know, right?) You're still going to end up pulling them WAY out, and be running rich. This is due to the DAI ("Ram Air") Sand.Man mentioned above. It was the biggest upgrade between the F2 and F3, and results in a TON more air being compressed into the cylinders, which the extra fuel compensates for.

If you really, really wanted to use the F3 kit, you'd need a "race" air filter (I don't believe K&N makes "race" versions for the F2,) and a full "race" manifold and exhaust to increase the airflow as much as possible. That's a ton of money to be dropping on an F2, and still not even be reaching stock F3 performance levels.

I'm wondering if you could take that jetkit money, and get a better performance boost on an F2 from a gearing change. Just a thought, I have nothing to back it up with.

i am not trying to get a performance gain. i bought this bike last year it has a k&n air filter and a yoshi r&d pipe on it. when i ride it, it just shudders and it doesnt want to accel at all. i took the carbs all apart and cleaned them. i dont know what stock jet number are but the jets were 128. everyone keeps telling me im running lean and i need a jet kit.
