Push down, pull up, push down, pull up, etc. If they haven't been off before it will take some muscle. Maybe a soft pry bar, dont break nothing. Dont get the cables mixed up when you finally get those seperated from the carbs also. Have fun. Also be careful not to pull the bike over tugging on those carbs. I almost did that one time.

That's a common problem, those things can be on tight. Like Frank said, it's just muscle and working them off. There's a number of other threads that have addressed the same things and you'll find a few tips on general carb cleaning too, like this one...

A few posts have already mentioned that this sounds like a fuel starvation problem and recommended checking the petcock and vacuum line. Did you do that? With the tank disconnected from the bike no fuel should flow out, with the petcock in the ON position, unless vacuum is applied through the small black hose line that connects the petcock to cylinder one on the engine block. Check the petcock is working properly first and that fuel is flowing properly from the tank. That will eliminate one potential problem source.
Did you actually clean the carbs as you went through them, or just inspect them? Even if they look clean, the small channels can still be blocked and it would be hard to tell.
Is your air filter in good shape? Make sure you are not starving the bike of air.
