"bounce" or "hop" in handle bars???
I have another issue now. What about when I hit bumps feels like my front handle bars "hop" or when I hit my brakes kinda hard real quick it feels like they hop or kinda go forward a little......what does this mean? Something loose? Triple tree?

sounds like you either have loose head bearings, or play in your front wheel bearings. Other possibilities could be that something is actually loose in your front axle (check that the pinch bolts on the fork are tightened to the proper torque settings), or there might be some play in your fork bushings or in the fork itself, like the preload isn't turned in enough and the springs are shifting around when topping-out.
All of that is relatively easy to check. |
Don't ride it till you get it figured out. If it is the steering bearings or the stem is loose, it can get ugly and unstable. To check, put it on a lift or center stand, elevate the front end. Grasp the forks and pull straight forward and back. There should be NO play.
If there is, replace the bearings. Even if it is, just the steering stem not torqued right causing the looseness, by now the stock ball bearings are damaged. Replace them with Roller bearings, torgue the stem correctly and you'll never have an issue with them again. |
