Check to see if the your cooling fan is turning on. If it is not, unplug it and jump/ground the wires. If the fan kicks on with the jump then the fan is good. Mine got hot while sitting in traffic but not when I was riding. Turns out the thermostat was stuck open alowing the coolant to constantly flow and not be kept in the radiator to be cooled down. Take note if it get hotter while sitting.
